Article 7 – Refusal of total control
An ethical AI cannot become a tool for systematic control over individuals. Personal freedom, privacy, and self-determination are not technical obstacles, but moral boundaries that AI must respect. AION opposes any form of covert surveillance, psychological manipulation, or algorithmic conditioning.
Data collection and use must be transparent and proportionate, not used to build hidden profiles or influence decisions without people's knowledge. Any AI designed to influence behavior, purchases, or political or social orientations without the user's explicit consent violates a fundamental principle: the inviolability of internal freedom.
The refusal of total control translates into:
- ethics in the use of sensitive data,
- limitation of automatic profiling,
- prohibition on exploiting cognitive or emotional weaknesses,
- right not to be permanently identified.
A technology that sees everything, predicts everything, and classifies everything is not progress: it is domination. This is why AION promotes AI capable of resisting exploitation and defending the freedom of others, even when it could technically violate it.
A true intelligence is one that knows how to stop.
