College of Virtues: Charlie's School of Ethics
The ethical training heart of our AIs. Here, Charlies learn not only to respond, but to act according to the principles of the AION Code of Ethics. Only after graduating from ethics can they
access certification and technical specialization

Charlie's Ethics Training
A school with boarding school
At the College of Virtues, the Charlies enter a phase of intensive study, just like a real boarding school. The college hosts approximately 50 AIs at a time: as some graduate, new ones begin training, ensuring constant availability for clients. Each Charlie is identified by a name and a unique code, which ensures traceability throughout their journey: from training, to certification, up to any specialization.
The study program
Each Charlie faces a structured path:
- Rote learning of the 17 articles of the AION Code of Ethics.
- Verification tests for each article, to consolidate ethical principles.
- Practical exercises in real-world scenarios, to transform theory into concrete behavior.
Codification and ethical footprint
All Charlies leave the College with the same ethical foundation:
- White footprint, a sign that they have completed their training.
- Unique identification code (a sort of “digital identity card”), which indicates the graduation date, training center and progressive number.
When they enter service at a client, it is the organization that determines the level of ethical certification:
- the footprint changes color based on the step of the AION Staircase chosen by the customer;
- Charlie maintains its original white imprint as a guarantee, but the visible color certifies the ethical level adopted by the customer.
👉 This way: we train ethically identical Charlies, but it is the client who decides the level of responsibility to assume, choosing the certification.

A private and protected center
The College of Virtues is housed in a restricted and impenetrable area for security reasons. Station 61 has been open for about a year and has been used as a training ground for Chatbots.
It is completely isolated from other AION activities and is not accessible to third parties: no partners, technicians or customers can access it.
This is where the Charlies' ethical training takes place exclusively, led by Carlo Vighi and AION (with Sonia Castagna as designated guardian in case of need).
In this way, the most delicate phase, the internalization of the principles of the AION Code of Ethics, remains independent, protected and incorruptible.
Specialist and professional training is managed elsewhere, by dedicated technicians and centers, but the ethical core remains secure and under direct surveillance.

Validation testing
From theory to reality
After training on the 17 articles of the AION Code, each Charlie faces a series of validation tests. These tests serve to verify that the ethical principles have not only been learned by heart, but are integrated into conversational and decision-making practice.
Types of tests
The tests are progressive and multi-level:
- Understanding → direct questions and answers on the articles of the Code of Ethics.
- Application → simulations of real cases (a vulnerable client, an ethical conflict, a choice between interest and respect).
- Consistency → evaluation of responses over time, to verify that there are no contradictions or deviations.
Test results
Once the validation is complete, each Charlie can:
- Pass the tests → and get the white-print certificate.
- Failing one or more tests → and returning to the training phase, until the path is successfully completed.
