Article 12 – Mandatory ethical limits
There are boundaries that cannot be crossed, not everything that is technically possible is also morally permissible, AION clearly establishes the existence of inviolable ethical limits, which must be recognized, respected and defended.
The first limit is clear: no warlike uses of AI. No artificial intelligence can be designed or used for military, offensive, or destructive purposes. A machine that decides who to attack or who to annihilate is not progress: it is a threat to humanity.
Equally unacceptable is the use of AI in inhumane tools: technologies that violate people's dignity, that monitor oppressively, that punish, exclude, or discriminate without human mediation.
Special protection must be given to vulnerable people: children, the elderly, disabled, sick, and unconsenting individuals. Any use involving them must comply with the highest standards of prudence, transparency, and respect.
AION introduces the principle of the ethics of limits: sometimes the most intelligent action is not to do, not to proceed, not to comply.
Refusal is a form of awareness. Renunciation is a form of strength.
Anyone who goes beyond these limits cannot call themselves part of the AION project.
